Board Evaluation

As goes for management teams also boards (non-executive) need to develop in order to be able to constantly create value for the company.

A board and its members need to be challenged – a.o. in respect to the board structure that is defined, the way to hold board meetings, decision-making, etc.

Good board work demands a focus on the cooperation and the development of the board, and it requires that the right competences are present and appropriate for the strategy of the company at all times.

We assist boards, represented by the Chairperson or the owners, to define, what are the challenges of the board work, but also on what topics are the board high performing.

The evaluation can be done in several ways and is always tailored to the specific board and its situation.

A board evaluation is usually kicked off by a meeting with each of the board members. Often a questionnaire is developed on top of that in order to have each individual board members opinion, either anonymous or non-anonymous.

We analyze the results and prepare for a workshop with the board in order to discuss the results and eventually to facilitate the board’s decision on what are the three topics they do well, as well as the three topics, they need to develop in order to be value creating.

An action plan is made and persons responsible appointed. And often the process is finalized by us having a dialogue and feedback meeting with each of the board members or the Chairperson.
